Equestrian Trails
Horizontal Line

The amount of equestrian trails in the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway is limited. The Riverway Master Plan calls for development of 25 miles of equestrian trail. Currently, equestrian trails exist at the Black Hawk Unit in Dane County and the Blue River/Muscoda Unit in Grant County and also a trail at the Millville Unit also in Grant County. In addition to bridle trails, the trails at the Black Hawk Unit and Muscoda Unit are suitable for horse drawn vehicles. Finally, at the Black Hawk Unit, a large covered pavilion for equestrian type events is available on a reservation basis. For information on equestrian trails in the Riverway, contact Ryder Will, Department of Natural Resources Riverway Manager, at (608) 935-1921 or by writing to him at 1500, Dodgeville, WI 53533.
